Year 6
Welcome to Year 6!
Your teachers are Mrs McHugh and Mr Boyd.
The four purposes of the new curriculum for Wales inform our teaching. Our learning experiences enable our pupils to be:
- ambitious, capable learners who undertake research and evaluate critically what they find and are ready to learn throughout their lives
- enterprising, creative contributors who give of their energy and skills so that other people will benefit and are ready to play a full part in life and work
- ethical, informed citizens who show their commitment to the sustainability of the planet and are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world
- healthy, confident individuals who have the skills and knowledge to manage everyday life as independently as they can and are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
Intentional and Prophetic - Virtues
Pupils in our school are growing to be intentional in the way they live and use the resources of the earth. They are prophetic in the example they set to others. It’s about trying to achieve a balance where you know what is important for you and what you want to spend your time and energies doing. Jesus Christ was a person who loved intentionally and is a good model to follow.
Being prophetic is about being seen to do good and about speaking out for what is right. Good news needs to be announced.
